Merry Christmas!

treeChristmas really snuck up on me this year!  I feel like I just got the Thanksgiving dishes put away and now I’m getting out the Christmas plates.

I’m fortunate to have extended family close by so we can celebrate Christmas Day together.  Christmas Eve, though, is just for our small family,th when we exchange gifts and then watch my all-time favorite holiday movie, A Christmas Story.  There’s really nothing I like more than snuggling on the couch with my kiddos and hubby, a roaring fire in the fireplace, hot chocolate (with extra marshmallows) in hand, and the dogs nearby enjoying their new toys, while the movie plays.

This morning, my five-year old eyed the gifts under the tree and asked, “When can we open gifts?”

“After dinner,” I replied.

“Oh.  Can we eat dinner now?”

I have to admit to laughing.  And then saying, “No.”  Of course that didn’t stop him from asking me if we could eat dinner many more times throughout the day, and also speculating about just what gifts are in the packages with the special Spiderman wrapping paper.  Even as I write this, he’s asked me if we can eat dinner two more times.  To which I’ve replied…”soon!”.

To all of my fans and friends here and abroad, I wish you much joy and peace this holiday season.  Merry Christmas!  XOXO, RE
